Bayerische Motoren · a quiet store for used BMW engines

Bayerische MotorenStore Check a VIN

Certificate

The paper that names your engine.

Eligible engines from Bayerische Motoren leave with a certificate. It is our paper. It is not a document from BMW AG. It tells you what you bought, in one place, so the crate is not only a heavy box.

A calm table where the certificate can sit with the engine notes

What the certificate shows

The engine code we agreed. The short name of the car it came from, when we know it. The date it left. The warranty window, if that engine has one, up to twelve months. A line that says the unit is used, not rebuilt.

What it does not show

It does not make a used engine new. It does not replace the VIN match. It does not cover a workshop’s labour. It does not carry a BMW roundel or a factory stamp. If a paper claims to be from BMW AG, it is not this certificate.

Keep it

Put it with the car papers. A later question is easier when the code is on a page you can hold.

Check it

The code on the paper and the code on the engine should be the same. If they differ, stop and tell us before the fit.

Ask for it

If an eligible engine arrives without the paper, say so on the contact page. We send a copy of the same facts.
